David Johnson
Aaron Neville Quintet / The Neville Brothers
David Johnson, born in Detroit, MI, began studying piano at the age of seven. David then went on to take up the bass guitar on his own at the age of 11. At an early age, he knew that music was his calling. David performed all over the Detroit area until he took an offer to work with a band in Florida in 1989. Since that time, he has become one of Florida’s premier musicians, and a “first call” bassist. Since 2000, David has toured with the Grammy Award-winning legends, The Neville Brothers. He's also the musical director for the Aaron Neville Quintet, with whom he has performed on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Today, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Martha Stewart Show.
